Blue Collar Dance Company was founded in 1996 with the purpose of developing greater awareness, appreciation, and integration of dance in the Calgary community. The wide variety of dance styles and projects in our history of productions and partnerships alone speaks to the unique role that Blue Collar Dance played in the Calgary dance community. BlueBird Moving Arts has emerged from the foundation of the Blue Collar Dance Company, to channel our movement and theatrical experience expertise into creative, collaborative, and educational experiences that have engaged and thrilled audiences of all ages in both Canada and the United Kingdom. Not only do we have experience in performing and teaching most disciplines of dance, we have the honor of working with wonderful colleagues from Calgary’s dance community. Disciplines include Dunham Technique, Afro Caribbean dance and culture, and storytelling through dance and musical theatre. In addition, Tara Blue has worked extensively with complex needs students Pre K - Grade 3 , acquiring and refining tips and tools for dance education management and success.
